MoSA’s Warm Touch : New Hope for Mambi Residents Through the ATENSI Program
Mamasa Regency (September 23rd, 2024) – In
a village surrounded by green hills, hope once again blossomed amidst the
simple lives of the residents of Mambi District, Mamasa Regency, West Sulawesi.
The presence of Dharma Guna Center team in Bengkulu through the Social
Rehabilitation Assistance Program (ATENSI) from the Ministry of Social Affairs
(MoSA) of the Republic of Indonesia brought a new smile to those who have long
yearned for attention and real assistance.
No less than 304 Persons in Need of Social Welfare Services (PPKS) received assistance with basic food packages, hygiene kits, and accessibility support equipment such as wheelchairs and three-legged canes. The assistance worthed a total of IDR 654,700,000; this was designed not only to meet basic needs but also to foster the economic independence of the community.
The Head of the "Dharma Guna" Center Syam Wuryani said with eyes full of hope, "This is not just assistance, this is a form of love and care for our fellow beings. We want the people of Mambi to know that they are not alone.” The sincere touch of the government through the ATENSI program was directly felt by those who needed it the most.
One of the beneficiaries, Nurlaela, an elderly woman who struggled daily to meet her basic needs, couldn't hold back her tears when she received the basic food package. "I never imagined I would receive such attention from the government. It feels like someone is reaching out and saying, 'You are not alone.' This is more than just help; it is a heartfelt concern," she said with teary eyes.
In the village of Sondong Layuk, a resident named Asmiati could smile with relief now. The once uninhabitable room had now become more comfortable for resting. Sleeping on a new mattress, using a soft pillow, and cooking with new utensils were simple things that now bring extraordinary happiness to Asmiati and her family.
Irwan, the Head of Mambi Subdistrict, expressed deep gratitude for the presence of the Dharma Guna Center in his village. "I am deeply moved. This is more than just physical assistance; it is a genuine form of care that touches the hearts of our citizens," he said.
This ATENSI program was not just about assisting, but also conveying the message that the government is present in every layer of society, embracing those who are marginalized, and helping them rise from their limitations. In the remote corners of Mamasa, warmth and hope were rekindled, sowing new dreams for a better future.
MoSA through Dharma Guna Center in Bengkulu had proven that the presence of the government was not just about numbers and reports, but also about tangible support where the community needed it the most. Might this effort continue, bringing hope at every step, and inspiring the spirit of the Mambi community and its surroundings.
