MAROS (December 20, 2024) - In order to commemorate the 75th National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN) on December 20, 2024, the Ministry of Social Affairs distributed social assistance worth IDR 2.5 trillion to South Sulawesi Province. The assistance includes various programs, including assistance for disability aids, food assistance, the Family Hope Program (PKH), and support for disaster victims. The assistance is expected to help ease the burden on the community, especially vulnerable groups such as the elderly and people with disabilities.

The peak event of HKSN was also equipped with social activities, such as mass circumcision, blood donation, public health services, and an exhibition of Sentra Kreasi Atensi products. Vice Minister of Social Affairs, Agus Jabo Priyono, emphasized the importance of collaboration and mutual cooperation in overcoming poverty and improving community welfare. "We must shift from a passive mindset to a productive one to realize an independent and prosperous Indonesia," he said.

In addition to social assistance, the Ministry of Social Affairs also held a mutual cooperation action with mass community service throughout Indonesia, which was attended by 1 million people, to clean rivers and water channels to prevent flooding. Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo reminded the public to remain vigilant against potential natural disasters during the rainy season.

Through collaboration between the government, private sector, and the community, the Ministry of Social Affairs hopes that this empowerment effort can accelerate poverty alleviation and realize a more prosperous Indonesia.
