The President Appreciates the Achievement of the MoSA Encourages KPM PKH to Be Independent
CIMAHI (January 29, 2020) -
President Joko Widodo appreciated the achievements in poverty alleviation of
the Ministry of Social Affairs under the leadership of Social Minister Juliari
P Batubara.
Not only the percentage
reduction in the poverty rate, but also the increasing number of beneficiaries
(KPM) of Family Hope Program (PKH) who graduated. "Last year, 1.3 million
KPM passed (graduations), out of 15 million who received PKH," said the
President while attending the Handover of the PKH Phase I, 2020, in Cimahi
City, Wednesday (29/01/2020 ).
The President hopes that
the number of KPM PKH who passed will continue to increase from time to time.
This year, he said, it is hoped that the number of graduates will get bigger,
so will the next year and so on.
"So, in the future the
poverty rate will get smaller and smaller. So that we will all be more
prosperous," said the President.
According to the Central
Statistics Agency (BPS) survey results, the poverty rate in Indonesia fell from
9.66% in September 2018 to 9.22% in September 2019.
To Juliari, the President
requested to conduct monitoring of PKH KPM. Among the 2,500 who attended at
Rajawali Field, the President was sure that there were those who had business
talent.
"They can try to do
business. I know that someone wants to sell meatballs, it's okay. It's okay to
sell rice, which is important to increase income. If the business continues to
be successful and the capital is lacking, we will give people's business credit
(KUR), or with Mekaar, or UMI, "said the President.
(KUR is a credit /
financing for working capital and / or investment for individual debtors.
Mekaar is PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) since early 2016 and has
promoted the Fostering a Prosperous Family Economy (Mekaar) program.
Ultra-Micro Financing (UMi) is an advanced stage program from a social
assistance program to business independence that targets micro businesses that
are at the lowest level.
The Potential for KUR is
IDR 375 billion
On that occasion, Juliari
reported to the President that of the 6.8 million KPM PKH and BPNT managed by
BNI, there are currently 1.3 million KPM graduations naturally.
"They are KPM who no
longer receive social assistance because they do not meet the social assistance
requirements and 15 thousand KPM graduations who have a business," he said.
"This segment is the
main target of KUR graduation with the assumption that an average KUR is Rp. 20
million, so the total potential financing is Rp. 375 billion," the
Minister continued.
In addition, there are
2,470 joint business group (KUBE) assisted by the Ministry of Social Affairs
that have the potential to get KUR worth Rp. 123 billion. The 10,530 agen46/Social Services Agency’s e-warong / RPK also
have the potential to receive KUR worth IDR 263 billion.
"Thus, Mr. President,
overall, there is a potential for KUR financing for the empowerment of the BNI
area at the Ministry of Social Affairs amounting to Rp761 billion," he said.
Next, Juliari will continue
to encourage more and more KPM PKH to graduate and be given soft loan facilities
from the state-owned bank association (Himbara) through the People's Business
Credit (KUR) program and from the National Civil Service (PNM) through the
Mekaar Program, in an effort to strengthen the people's economy towards an
advanced Indonesia. .
