Jakarta (July 19, 2022) - Discussing the development of the social work profession cannot be separated from the role of educational institutions and stakeholders. MoSA through the Center for Education, Training, and Professional Development (Pusdiklatbangprof) becomes the institution for coaching functional positions of social workers and social counselors.

Regarding its role as the coaching unit, Pusdiklatbangprof received visits as well as consultations from the social office of the East Java province. Several matters were consulted regarding the certification of social workers and the establishment of functional position formations for social workers and social counselors.

Previously, Assistant Deputy for Standardization of Positions and Competency of State Civil Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms Ministry, Istyadi Insani, said that the coaching unit needed to make adjustments because there were differences between regular position transfers and adjustments with equalization of positions.

Reflecting on the adjustment, the Head of Education and Training Center, Afrizon Tanjung said that there were variations in the class of positions occupied. This becomes one of the problems when there is a functional position class that is higher than it should be or other functionals. Afrizon also added that apart from certification, it will also be seen in terms of the competence of the person who will occupy the functional position.

Pusdiklatbangprof in its role as a coaching unit certainly has the responsibility to ensure the realization of quality and professional standards. Meanwhile, the Social Office of East Java, represented by the Secretary, came together with the East Java Regional Civil Service to ask for support in determining the need for the formation of government employees with a work agreement (PPPK) for Social Workers in East Java Province.
