Reviewing Logistics Warehouse, Risma Wants All Data to be Digitalized
MAKASSAR (April 21, 2021) - The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini requested that her staff start working on digital data collection and leave conventional methods. This also applies to post-disaster handling, one of which is related to the management and provision of food and equipment stocks in logistics warehouses.
"Please, all warehouses can be integrated to display data on warehouse contents digitally and no longer in paper form," she said while reviewing the Logistics Warehouse of the Eastern Regional Ministry of Social Affairs in Makassar, Tuesday (20/4).
Each warehouse, said the Minister of Social Affairs, needs to provide sufficient availability of goods so that they can be sent quickly to various disaster locations at any time and are not hampered by means of transportation and shipping costs.
"Logistics warehouses need to be added with sufficient contents so that shipments to the disaster location are not hampered by transportation and shipping costs," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
Risma also requested that the disaster site prepare tents made of non-tarpaulin material. Furthermore, she asked that the tent in question be provided with a hole in the middle end to make it easier to support the tent poles.
"It is necessary to prepare a tent model with non-tarpaulin material, then at the middle end there is a hole to support the poles, such as those used in Scouting activities," she said.
Based on the experience at the recent disaster site, logistics delivery is constrained by modes of transportation. The sea waves and the condition of the roads damaged by the disaster have hampered the delivery of residents and could not arrive quickly.
