SEMARANG (October 29, 2024) - Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) and Vice Minister Agus Jabo Priyono visited beneficiaries of Nutritious Meal Assistance for the Elderly in Semarang on Tuesday (10/29/2024).

During the visit, Gus Ipul and Agus Jabo ensured that Nutritious Meal Assistance for the Elderly was efficiently provided to those in need.

Gus Ipul and Agus Jabo visited the house of 86-year-old beneficiary Sri Amini. They oversaw the Nutritious Meal Assistance for the Elderly provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) over the previous year.

"My purpose, together with the Vice Minister, is to directly check that our programs are reaching the right beneficiaries, as directed by the president," Gus Ipul stated.

Every day, Sri Amini receives two nutritious meals in the morning and afternoon through the MoSA meal program, organized by a community group called Semut Berkah. Semut is an Indonesian abbreviation for North Semarang, while Berkah means blessing. "It has a beautiful name; may it bring blessings like its name," Gus Ipul remarked during his visit.

Sri Amini is a single elderly woman who makes a living as a scavenger with uncertain income. In addition to the meal program, Sri Amini also receives the basic food program, nutrition supplements and a mattress.

"Thank you, sir. I had never received any assistance before this," Sri Amini expressed to Gus Ipul.

In addition to reviewing issues in Semarang, Gus Ipul and Agus Jabo distributed other assistance, including the Orphan Assistance Program (YAPI), Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI), Family Hope Program (PKH) and basic food program.

For the city of Semarang, MoSA has allocated IDR 2,627,288,000 for the Nutritious Meal Assistance for the Elderly.
