JAKARTA (7 November 2019) – The Social Affairs Minister Juliari P. Batubara accepted the visitation of Coordinator Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy and his staff in the Ministry of Social Affairs office. Both of the officials coordinated several important policies to realize the President’s Vision which was to build the superior human resource and created Indonesia onward.

According to the Social Affairs Minister Juliari, built the superior human resource was a big issue which became topic of the meeting is that the MoSA’s support data to create the education assistance which was Indonesia Smart Card for College.

“I sent the message to the Coordinating Minister that we are already make coordination to the Minister of Education and Culture regarding to the topic. The MoSA has 530,000 data of Grade 12th students. After the verification, as much as 19,000 students has been matched. It means that they can receive the Indonesian Smart Card for College assistance,” said the Minister in his office, Jakarta, Thursday (07/11/2019).

There were the Secretary General of The MoSA Hartono Laras, and all of Director Generals, head of agency, Inspector General, and also three senior advisors of Social Affairs Minister attended in the meeting. Meanwhile the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture was completely attended in, including the Secretary of the Coordinating Minister and all the deputy.

The main point was that this meeting was based on the spirit of improving the coordination and program optimalization in the Ministry of Social Affairs with the related institution, especially the one who been managed by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.

Still related to the data needs. In the meeting, the Minister also reported the MoSA’s action which would been coordinated with the Director General of Population and Civil Registration from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The goals is that the Ministry of Social Affairs would pushed the pre-welfare person who received the social assistance must be based on the ID Number.

“Next week, we will match the data with Population and Civil Registration from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The purpose is to make ID Number become the base of social assistance distribution towards pre-welfare persons. Meanwhile the civil data and ID number will be included in the Population and Civil Registration,” said the Minister.

The Social Affairs Minister stated that from 98,000,000 data of pre-welfare persons which been managed by the Integrated Social Welfare Data system, there were 30,000,000 souls which has uncleared ID Number. “This is what we push on, so that the Population and Civil Registration can match the data by door to door. We want the social assistance to be on target towards the pre-welfare persons by based on the ID Number,” said the Minister.

Moreover, the Minister was also reported that the MoSA would improve and strengthened the program which related to the social empowerment, other than the past program.

“The Coordinating Minister is very supportive. And overall, he appreciates all the program which in context of realizing the President’s vision related to build the superior human resource and creates Indonesia onward,” said the Minister.

He also did not forget to delivered toward to the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, to strengthening the communication to the President Jokowi related to the implementation of National Social Solidarity Day on December 2019, in South Kalimantan.

Remembering that this event was involved all Indonesian local government and big support from the host, South Kalimantan Province, including the form of budget support. “We need help of coordinating minister to ask president to attend in the event,” said the Minister.

Moreover, the Social Affairs Minister wanted to clarified on the news of 22 million Indonesian people starved. “It is not right. After I read the real news, there are no statement on the starve of 22 million persons. The real script is said on Vulnerability and Malnutrition. There are mis used of term,” said the Minister.

However, the main point was that the country, in this context was the Ministry of Social Affairs had taken the role to reduce poverty. It was been done through Family Hope Program and Non-Cash Food Assistance. “This has proof to reduce the poverty number. The proof is that the number is keep decrease until 9,41 percent. It means that the government assistance intervention is effectively reduce the poverty number,” said the Minister.
