Social Affairs Minister Risma Kept Her Promise to Religious Institutions in Papua

Following up on her visit in 2023, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini went on a working visit to Jayapura, Papua Province, on Tuesday (6/2). Social Affairs Minister Risma kept her promise to hand over four double cabin four-wheeled emergency vehicles to religious institutions in Papua. The four institutions receiving this assistance are the Evangelical Christian Church (GKI), the Evangelical Church in Indonesia (GIDI) and the Jayapura Diocese and the Evangelical Tent Church (Kingmi), in Papua land.

The total value of the assistance provided is IDR2.23 billion which came from grant funds. This emergency vehicle assistance is a tool to transport and distribute logistics from social warehouses to various locations if a disaster occurs.

Social granaries were built at several points, including at churches in mountainous areas which are disaster-prone locations, so that they can speed up the distribution of aid if a disaster occurs.
