Spirit Recovers with Minister Risma's Assistance

JAKARTA (19 February 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini continues to provide aid to persons suffering from a variety of ailments. Hundreds of people have benefited from case responses generated through mass media scanning.

Today, Monday (19/2), Minister Risma met with two children and one adult who were undergoing treatment. Ashraf Al-Abqary (2) of Subang Regency, West Java, suffered from a heart leak, while Desmon Naftal (4) of Bintan Regency, Riau Islands, had a urinary tract anomaly. Aside from that, Hermansyah (47) of Pringsewu City, Lampung, suffers from motor nerve disorders.

"We’ll treat him in Jakarta. Do you agree, ma'am?" said the Minister to one of the parents of a child she met at the Jakarta Handayani Center, on Monday (19/2).

The Ministry of Social Affairs has offered help to the three through regional centers, including access to health facilities and other services. Abiseka Center in Pekanbaru, for example, referred Desmon to Jakarta for treatment. He has lived in Jakarta for ten months and was provided with accommodation and transportation to the hospital by the Handayani Center.

"It was difficult to adapt at first, but over time, hanging out with the employees became comfortable and enjoyable," Desmon's biological mother, Angelin, said.

Angelin stated that, in addition to assisting Desmon, she received business assistance in the shape of catering and basic necessities.  The Desmon family received IDR 13.5 million in ATENSI aid, which included nutritional assistance, personal hygiene equipment, educational game equipment, and entrepreneurial assistance. "The various assistance from the Minister has increased our enthusiasm to patiently undergo the treatment process so that Desmon can recover quickly," she said optimistically.

In addition to Desmon, Ashraf's family received IDR 15 million in ATENSI aid for nutrition, educational games, entrepreneurship, medical expenditures, and operational costs. Meanwhile, Hermansyah received assistance in the form of basic necessities, nutrition, clothing, personal hygiene equipment, and business support.

The Minister is determined to support till the end. As a result, all areas are aided, including enabling civil registration for children, National Health Insurance registration, and other tasks deemed necessary.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Affairs and kitabisa.com are attempting to cover costs that the Social Security Body for Health (BPJS) cannot afford. Desmon raised IDR 34.7 million, Ashraf raised IDR 26 million, and Hermansyah raised IDR 47.7 million.
