BANDUNG (September 26th, 2019) - Directorate of Remote Indigenous Community (Komunitas Adat Terpencil (KAT)) Ministry of Social Affairs held a Techincal Guidance of Home Industry Skill for citizen of KAT in order to improve their skills.
The participants are the citizens of secluded custom community that lives on the isolated places from all over Indonesia. Some of them live in a very far away from downtown, even they need seven hours or more to reach the downtown. Because of this situation, most of them are lacking of knowledge to organize the goods in their surrounding. Then, the Directorate of Remote Indigenous Community Empowerment, Ministry of Social Affairs is in charge to help to increase their level of life.
This event consists of two activities, such as making table and chairs from bamboo base and learning about agriculture which starts from tillage, corps management, product management, until product marketing.
The facilitator of making table and chair comes from CV. Sagitria Collection Tasikmalaya which already export some crafts like bamboo straw to Japan. The participants have to make a table and chair in a group with a limited times. They began with cutting the bamboo, measuring, and varnishing.
"This event was held to assist the participant about home industry skill. Others, they can acknowledge their potency and improving their skills so that it can increase their level of welfare and independency," said Director of Pemberdayaan KAT La Ode Taufik while giving his speech at Patuha Resort, Bandung.
The participants were also invited to go to Pondok Pesantren Al Ittifaq to observe and learn about agriculture and agribusiness technique, from the very beginning step such as tillaging until packaging. This pesantren is not only a school for the student, but it also as place to make money
This activity is expected to be able to increase participant's comprehension, knowledge, and abilty to solve social problems in KAT location as well as giving a solution to improve their level of economy and welfare.
