JAKARTA (October 28, 2019) - The Joint Capacity Building on the Protection of Human Trafficking Victims (JCB) is a forum for exchange of information, experience and best practices between officials of Indonesian Ministries / Institutions and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) related to handling cases of Trade Crimes Person. One of the UEA activities in Indonesia is a visit to the Safe House of Trauma Center of the Ministry of Social Affairs (RPTC).

During his visit, the delegation of the UAE delegation led by Assistant Deputy Secretary for Inspection HE Maher Alobad was received by the Director of Social Rehabilitation for Social Tuna and Victims of Trafficking in the Ministry of Social Affairs Waskito Budi Kusumo. The group was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and K / L representatives who were members of a sub-task force to eradicate Human Trafficking.

On this occasion, Waskito Budi Kusumo explained the pattern of services, shelter management and facilities owned by the RPTC in supporting the handling of victims of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO).

Furthermore, delegation members had the opportunity to talk with TPPO victims who were sent home from Damascus. 10 people, all of whom were women, were suspected of being victims of human trafficking who were sent after the moratorium put an end to the placement of migrant workers to Syria in 2011.

After getting exposure and speaking directly with TPPO victims HE Maher Alobad was amazed by the services provided by the RPTC to TPPO victims.

The RPTC is an institution that provides early protection and psychosocial recovery services and recovery of traumatic conditions experienced by victims of violence under the coordination of the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Social Tuna and Victims of Human Trafficking. The RPTC is one of the safe houses that the Government of Indonesia is proud of at international meetings. In 2019 the RPTC had handled shipment cases from 16 countries, with a total of 26 human resources, all of whom were non-organic employees. With the motto of Working in Silence, RPTC always tries to provide the best service for the victims.
