CIBINONG (July 6, 2022) – MoSA through Integrated Center “Inten Soeweno” received a visit from the Secretariat Team of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and  the Pacific (UNESCAP). This visit is one of the agenda for the preparation of the High-level Intergovernmental Meeting on the Final Review of The Implementation of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons (HLIM FRIAPDD) which will be held on October 18-20 in Jakarta.

 

The arrival of the UNESCAP team was greeted with the strains of musical instruments such as the angklung performed by the staff of the Integrated Center Inten Soeweno. The Head of the Secretariat Team expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome. "Hopefully a visit to one of the Technical Implementing Units will prove that MoSA is capable of implementing the Focal Point in Fulfilling the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Indonesia," said Soomi Ro.

 

This visit was intended to see firsthand the Social Rehabilitation Services at MoSA. M.O.Royani the Head of the Inten Soeweno Integrated Center, briefly explained the existing social rehabilitation programs and services.

 

The UNESCAP team had the opportunity to visit the location for the implementation of Vocational Therapy for the manufacture of salted eggs, doormats, and decoupage. The UNESCAP team also participated in buying the work of the Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) in the form of goodie bags, batik cloth, and tablecloths, as well as several other handicrafts made of wood.

 

The visit was attended by the Head of the Kartini Integrated Center in Temanggung and the Head of the Soeharso Integrated Center in Solo. Each of these Integrated Centers displays several superior products such as the Adaptive Guide Cane, Modified Wheelchair for Cerebral Palsy, and the three-wheeled motorcycle  Inten Soeweno.
