Vice President Gibran Leads the 2024 Heroes' Day Ceremony

The 2024 National Heroes' Day Ceremony at the Kalibata National Heroes'
Cemetery (TMPNU) on November 10, 2024, took place solemnly. In this ceremony,
the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka was
appointed as the ceremony inspector.
Starting
at 07.50 a.m., the ceremony began with a tribute to the souls of the heroes.
Then continued with commemorating the battle of November 10, 1945, in Surabaya
by sounding a siren for 1 minute. A moment of silence was held before the
Ceremony Inspector laid the Wreath. The ceremony was then closed with a prayer
for the souls of the heroes.
The
series of ceremonies continued with a pilgrimage and laying of flowers at the
graves of the heroes by the Vice President, Minister of Social Affairs
Saifullah Yusuf, and the guests who were present. Some of the graves that were strewn with
flowers were the graves of the heroes of the revolution, Adam Malik, Umar
Wirahadikusumah, R. Sudharmono, BJ Habibie, and other graves.
"(The
ceremony) went smoothly," said Gus Mensos when giving a statement after
attending a series of ceremonies, Sunday (10/11/2024).
Gus
Mensos said that this ceremony was also carried out simultaneously in
government institutions, both at the center, regions, and at foreign attaches.
The
2024 Heroes' Day commemoration has the theme "Emulate Your Heroes, Love
Your Country". It reflects a strong national spirit, a call to unite,
maintain national identity, and strengthen love for the homeland. It also
inspires exemplary action that invites every individual to become a hero in
their respective environments, by contributing positively and actively in
community life.
Meanwhile,
acting as the Ceremonial Officer this time is Brigadier General of Indonesian
Army Forces Edi Saputra, Chief of Staff of Kogartap I/Jakarta. The Commander of
the ceremony is Colonel Pnb Lucky Indrawan, S.A.P., Head of Operations Service
of Suryadarma Air Force Base. (*)
