KEBUMEN (February 13, 2021) - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini visited the location and victims of landslides in Kalijering Village, Padureso, Kebumen Regency, Central Java. During the visit, the Minister of Social Affairs said that he would send a 'Trauma Healing' team to the evacuee camps to help relieve the post-disaster trauma experienced by the evacuees, especially children.

This was conveyed by Risma while entertaining the children in the evacuee camp. According to her, people often ignore them (children), when in fact the children (also feel) are traumatized, maybe even (the children) will never forget until they grow up.

"Therefore, later I will bring a team that will help with 'trauma healing' so that they are not traumatized," she said after meeting residents affected by landslides who are now evacuating in several houses, mosques and village halls around the landslide disaster in Kebumen, Friday (12/2).

Risma added, in dealing with disasters, (handling) do not need to be separated because this is a (shared) task between the regions, provinces, and the center.

"This disaster in Kebumen has victims. I just received a report last night that this landslide had victims. So, (that's) why I prioritized (reviewing) here," she explained.

She asked regional leaders and village heads to (both have a strong desire to) prevent the landslide from happening again so that there are no more victims. If the location is no longer possible to be occupied, Risma suggested that it should be relocated.

"Only, I didn't know there was land not for relocation, God willing, there is," she continued.

On this occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs provided compensation to the families of the victims who died. In addition, infrastructure assistance was also handed over to relieve the residents. Regarding assistance for the construction of houses affected by landslides, the Ministry of Social Affairs will immediately coordinate.

"Later, I will communicate again for the construction of houses. Indeed, we have a budget, but I don't know how many buildings here if you want to build a house. Later, we need to synergize with the provinces and districts, so that decent houses can be built," she said.

In handling the Kebumen landslide, the Ministry of Social Affairs disbursed assistance in the form of logistics worth IDR 46 million, consisting of 4 tons of regular rice and compensation to the heirs for 3 people of IDR 45 million.

As is known, due to the landslide that occurred on Tuesday (9/2) night, 7 houses were damaged with an estimated loss of around Rp1.22 billion.
