CIBINONG (May 13, 2020) – A total of 70,224 families in the Bogor Regency received basic food social assistance package (bansos) from President Joko Widodo.
The Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara, explained that they are scattered in seven sub-districts that are directly adjacent to DKI Jakarta, including Bojong Gede, Cibinong, Cileungsi, Citeureup, Gunung Putri, Jonggol, and Klapanunggal.
“This is the first phase of basic food assistance distribution for the Bogor area. On yesterday’s occasion, the Ministry of Social Affairs concentrated in the DKI Jakarta area because the status of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) was applied first in DKI Jakarta,” said the Minister of Social Affairs.
The Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, added that the number of basic food assistance recipients in Bogor Regency comes from the data provided by the district government.
“We receive the data of the recipients from the local government. Coincidentally, the local government in Bogor Regency has pretty good data, so the data is up-to-date,” said Pepen at the Pakansari Village office, today (13/5).
Therefore, he continued, it will make it easier for the Ministry of Social Affairs to be able to directly distribute the assistance. With the data that is continuously updated, Pepen admits that the distribution of basic food can be more well-targeted.
“Bogor Regency happens to keep updating, so it can be more well-targeted,” He admits, praising the Bogor Regency Government regarding the data.
The distribution of basic necessities is carried out through an intermediary for the local RT/RW administrator while still following government regulations to prevent residents from gathering.
“The distribution process will later be distributed by an intermediary who has been appointed to give the package to the Beneficiaries (KPM), so there is no gathering of people to maintain social distancing, but of course administrators from RT/RW will continue to monitor the implementation,” he explained.
Meanwhile, for areas outside the seven sub-districts, Pepen said the government provides Cash Social Assistance (BST) with the same index as the basic food assistance recipients, which is 600 thousand rupiahs per month.
“Later, (areas) outside the 7 sub-districts (in Bogor Regency) will receive cash social assistance, it is the same, the index is 600 thousand,” he said.
For Pakansari Village alone, 1,631 packages of the President's basic food assistance through the Ministry of Social Affairs have been distributed. The basic food assistance that is handed over is the first phase for the Bodetabek area (Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi).
“The process of updating data continues. After all, there is a lot of data. We have received data on recipients of the President’s basic food assistance for Bogor Regency, Tangerang City and South Tangerang, Depok, and Bekasi,” said the man with glasses.
The basic food assistance reaches 1.9 million families. In the DKI Jakarta area, it reaches 1.3 million families and Bodetabek (the area directly adjacent to Jakarta) reaches 600 thousand families.
