KENDARI (22 May 2020) - Following up on the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia to immediately take care of neglected people (poor, vulnerable and marginalized groups) who are affected directly or indirectly by the COVID-19 pandemic, to immediately provide assistance to the community.
Responding to this, the Makassar "Toddopuli" Children's Center handed over Social Assistance (Bansos) in the form of basic foodstuffs to children who had the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the total number of Social Assistance was 413 distributed in 2 Provinces. Southeast Sulawesi and South Sulawesi
For Southeast Sulawesi Province, there were 50 packages of basic necessities given to them, which were delivered in 2 different locations, namely the Harapan Baru Lambuya Orphanage, Konawe Regency, 30 packages and the Wahana Anak Muda Foundation, Kendari City, 20 packages.
This social assistance was given directly by the Head of the Makassar "Toddopuli" Children Center Christiana Junus, witnessed by the Supervisor of the Southeast Sulawesi Social Worker Service Unit (Sakti Peksos) Yuyun Yulia and Sakti Peksos Kendari City Okto Mangiri.
Christiana Junus explained that this social assistance was submitted in accordance with the direction of the Director General of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Harry Hikmat, that this assistance must be immediately provided for displaced people, especially children who have an impact on the COVID-19 pandemic in accordance with applicable regulations, quickly, precisely, accurately. and can be accounted for.
The chairman of the Harapan Baru Lambuya Orphanage, Konawe Regency, Meynder F. T. Lawole, expressed his gratitude to the Makassar "Toddopuli" Children's Center for providing social assistance and hopes that this social assistance can meet the needs of children impacting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairman of the Wahana Anak Muda Kota Kendari Foundation, David hopes that this social assistance can be used properly and this pandemic will end soon so that life can return to normal. The recipients of this social assistance are children whose parents are no longer working due to the impact of this pandemic and there are also those whose parents' income has decreased so that they cannot meet their daily needs.
