Commission VIII and the Ministry of Social Affairs Ensure No More Civil Servants and Board Members Include in the List of Social Assistance Recipients

SERANG (June 30, 2020) - Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Ministry of Social Affairs ensure that no more Civil Servants (PNS) and council members will receive social assistance for the next stage of the COVID-19 outbreak in Banten Province.
The chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, Yandri Susanto, asked the regional government to immediately correct the data on social assistance recipients for dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak so that there will be no more cases of data errors, such as civil servants until registered members of the council become recipients of social assistance.
"If the distribution of aid is adequate, a few points is still need to be adjusted, such as civil servants who also receive social assistance, as well as the board members and rich people who are registered, even though they are only a few percent, this will disturb the sense of justice of the people," said Yandri after the evaluation meeting. distribution of social assistance at the Banten Governor's Hall, Tuesday (30/6).
"We have to make sure that the recipient is the person who has the right, for those who are not entitled to it, it is returned and the information is disseminated to the public as an arena for a good cooperation campaign," he said.
Yandri said the results of the evaluation of the distribution of social assistance funds with the Heads of Social Office in Banten Province would be taken into consideration in a joint meeting with the four Ministries. The issue of data verification will be one of the discussions with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Villages, Bappenas and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
"There needs to be transparency, if not, then what remains is that the social assistance data problem continues. We have received input, tomorrow Commission VIII will have a joint meeting with four ministers who are directly related to COVID-19 and the distribution of social assistance funds," he explained.
Meanwhile, in the same place, the Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, explained that the data collection process for social assistance recipients was dynamic and continuously updated. For this reason, if there is an error in the data of the recipient of the social assistance, he said, it happened because the distribution needed a fast time so that it could help the community.
"In distributing social assistance, we do not wait for neat data because social assistance is an emergency, it needs to be fast. We distribute data assistance and then it is verified by the regions so that it is dynamic," explained Pepen.
The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to ask the regions to improve the data day by day by involving elements of the village government as the spearhead.
"We don't specify one particular area, but from the area the data continues, the dynamics are day to day, the important thing is that we update quickly," he said.
