SENTUL, BOGOR (February 20th 2020) - Under the heavy rain, the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara has fueled the enthusiasm of the Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) to continue working to help disaster victims in Indonesia.

 

"I am proud to see the training preparations being carried out because this is not all for us. You are the chosen ones to take part in this training. With more preparedness, supported by the Ministry of Social Affairs work partners, I am sure that more lives will be saved," said the Minister of Social Affairs when visiting the location of the Disaster Preparedness Cadets Training at Tagana Center, Sentul, Thursday (20/2).

 

In addition to providing treatment for disaster victims, the Minister of Social Affairs appealed to Disaster Preparedness Cadets to equip themselves with health management.

 

"When disaster strikes, the Ministry of Social Affairs is more focused on handling victims. Its preparedness is, of course, how in disaster conditions, our officers can be skilled at preventing more casualties or preventing more severe casualties," said the Ministry of Social Affairs.

 

Upon arrival at the location, the Minister of Social Affairs immediately checked the health service posts that had been prepared by the Disaster Preparedness Cadets. In fact, Ministry of Social Affairs immediately conducted health tests conducted by Disaster Preparedness Cadets, ranging from blood pressure checks, weight and height checks, to cholesterol checks.

Disaster Preparedness Cadets were provided with the training for the field of Volunteer Health Management. The existence of volunteer health posts is the output of the training obtained by Disaster Preparedness Cadets, as well as a form of Disaster Preparedness Cadets being able to lead and manage the health sector, or at least as provisions for themselves and fellow Disaster Preparedness Cadets, considering that there are often limited numbers of medical personnel in the field.
