Encouraging Disaster Literacy, Tagana Goes to School and Islamic Boarding School
MAJALENGKA (April
25, 2022) - As an effort to disaster literacy, or an early introduction to
disaster mitigation and management for students, the Ministry of Social Affairs
carried out Tagana Goes to School (TMS) and Islamic boarding school activities
at the Al-Mizan Foundation, Majalengka Regency, West Java, Monday (April 25,
2022).
"Our
target is how to disseminate on disaster management. We carry out disaster
literacy activities for students in schools and Islamic boarding schools,"
said the Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazaruddin
at the TMS activity at the Al-Mizan Foundation, Majalengka, Monday (25/4).
According to
Pepen, TMS or Islamic Boarding School Tagana is one of the flagship programs of
the Ministry of Social Affairs, which targets students in schools and Islamic
boarding schools.
"They
are equipped with various knowledge and skills in disaster management, so that
the children of the Islamic boarding school here, who will later return to the
community, can transmit this knowledge," he said.
The Al-Mizan
Foundation became the first school/Islamic boarding school in Majalengka
Regency to be awarded the TMS Program. Furthermore, there are 9 other
schools/Islamic boarding schools in Majalengka Regency, which will also be
given the same disaster literacy by Tagana personnel.

VIII of the House appreciates disaster literacy carried out by the MoSA,
through TMS and Islamic Boarding School Programs.
"We appreciate this program. We always emphasize the disaster literacy
movement, disseminate, and educate the community, especially in the school
environment, and I propose boarding schools," said Member of Commission
VIII of the House, Maman Imanul Haq, who was also present in the TMS activity
in Majalengka.

Haq, who is also the Chair of the Al-Mizan Foundation, then suggested that the
students at the foundation concerned be given disaster literacy by Tagana
personnel.
