PANDEGLANG (November 2, 2019) - The Ministry of Social Affairs distributed the second phase of social life assistance to 1,026 families affected by the Sunda Strait tsunami disaster in Pandeglang Regency. Jadup was symbolically handed over to ten of them.
The distribution was carried out on Saturday (11/2) morning at the BRI Field of the Labuan Branch Office, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. Jadup was handed over directly by the Director General of Social Protection and Security, Harry Hikmat accompanied by the Director of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA), Rachmat Koesnadi to each recipient of the jadup.
Jadup was given in the form of an account book filled with money with a total of 2.4 billion rupiahs given by the Ministry of Social Affairs to 1,026 families or 4,010 people.
Harry said that one of the tasks of the Ministry of Social Affairs is to ensure that there was a schedule of jadup after the disaster emergency period was ended. This is adjusted to the existing conditions.
"In the phase of disaster management, there is a pre-disaster. This is important to prepare for community preparedness, one of them is the Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB) activities. Even for Pandeglang, we have confirmed about 10 districts the existence of KSB. After KSB, the schools are also prepared. There are activities dealing with Tagana Goes to School as well", said Harry.
Therefore, Harry suggested that Pandeglang residents start to get used to internalization an understanding of disaster.
"Talking about disaster must be their daily conversation. So, the Pandeglang community should be familiar with the disasters in order to put more awareness of the disasters that may occur in our area", Harry appealed to all Pandeglang residents who were present at the jadup distribution.
Present at the distribution, Pandeglang Regent which was represented by ASDA II Pandeglang Regency, Indah Dinarsiani, Head of Labuan BRI Branch, Aidil Adi Saputra, Head of Labuan Police, AKP Nono Hartono, Head of Labuan Danranmil 01/10, Captain Inf. Heri Hermawan and Head of Labuan Sub-District, Atep Purnama.
The distribution was also enlivened by Tagana personnel, PKH Human Resources, started from assistants, supervisors to PKH district coordinators (Korkab) and Labuan Social Welfare Workers (TKSK).
Indah Dinarsiani, who represented the Pandeglang Regent, welcomed the presence and intention of the delegation from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
"Alhamdulillah, the Ministry of Social Affairs has provided a lot of support, both at the time of the disaster and after the disaster. The Ministry of Social Affairs helps to recover the losses suffered by victims, even for the died victims have been given compensation," he said.
After validation, he continued, there were 1,026 affected families who were approved to receive jadup with a total of 4,010 people. Now, it is only 734 households or 1,780 people can be realized.
"Meanwhile, today, we invite 100 families from four subdistricts, they are Carita, Labuhan, Sukaresmi and Pagelaran," Indah explained.
Pandeglang Regency became an area affected by the Sunda Strait tsunami disaster on December 22, 2018. It made many of its citizens lose family members and property.
One of the ten residents who received jadup from Labuan Subdistrict, Ranti, told the loss she experienced after the disaster struck the area where she stayed. Her house was destroyed from the roof to the wall so that the jadup she got would be used to repair her house.
"Alhamdulillah, I get 3 million from the Ministry of Social Affairs. So, I want to use it to repair my house so that it can be reoccupied comfortably as it was before the disaster", she said.
In addition to those who have received their jadup today, the rest are still in the process of verifying and validating the requirements and will be completed as soon as possible into their own accounts, before the Ministry of Social Affairs conducts the next work visits to Pandeglang Regency.
