The Bunisari Disaster Preparedness Village Has an Active Role in Overcoming Disasters

PANGANDARAN (17 July 2020) - Following up on the preparation and coordination of the Disaster Preparedness Area (KSB) in the east coast of ​​Java Island, the Head of the Sub-directorate for Preparedness and Mitigation, Iyan Kusmadiana, visited one of the Disaster Preparedness Villages in Bunisari Village, Cigugur District, Regency Pangandaran.

The village, which is approximately 40 km from Pangandaran City, has a mountainous natural geographical contour with the potential for landslides and floods. Therefore, Iyan said that the members of the KSB Bunisari Village have an important role in handling disasters in the village.

"I hope that all members of the KSB Bunisari Village together with Disaster Preparedness Cadets (Tagana) of Pangandaran Regency can be more social with the residents of Bunisari Village," Iyan said in front of members of the KSB Bunisari Village and Tagana personnel, Thursday (16/7).

He also mentioned that it was necessary to obey the health protocols while doing, such as by always wearing masks, washing their hands before and after the activities, and maintaining a minimum distance of one meter with others.

On the same occasion, the Head of Bunisari Village, Saepudin, as the KSB supervisor of the local village expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs. "We are very grateful to the Minister of Social Affairs who has paid more attention to us in Bunisari Village," he said.

Until now, Bunisari Village has had one fostered KSB consisting of 100 members which has an active role in disaster mitigation efforts in Bunisari Village.

According to Saepudin, apart from being active in preventing the spread of COVID-19, KSB Bunisari Village worked together to build raft boats to anticipate flood disaster.

"Disaster that often occurs in Bunisari Village, apart from drought, is flood. We, together with members of KSB and Tagana, have been trying to build a raft," said Saepudin.

Then he continued that they really hope that the Minister of Social Affairs to be able to provide assistance in the form of Rubber Boat and Tank Truck for Bunisari Village.
