BEKASI (October 23, 2019) - Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Edi Suharto stated that the implementation of handling Children Against the Law (ABH) still encountered many obstacles and problems.
"Constraints and problems that exist should be sought as a solution so that the purpose of the enactment of the Law on the Criminal Justice System for Children (SPPA) as a manifestation of Restorative Justice can run according to shared expectations," he explained. Furthermore Edi Suharto added, "Entering the fifth year of the Restorative Justice journey, we need to evaluate what is the mandate of the Criminal Justice System Law to the Ministry of Social Affairs regarding regulations, human resources and infrastructure that already exist. So through this Public Test, is expected to improve the results of the ABH Social Rehabilitation NSPK discussion so that it is carried out effectively and on target. "
Increasingly complex and constantly increasing ABH problems both in terms of the number of children as perpetrators or victims as well as from a variety of issues and influencing factors, the Ministry of Social Affairs seeks to strengthen partnerships with the Police, District Courts and Ministries / Institutions that have concerns in the field of children to unite their vision and mission to meet the needs of children's basic rights which are based on the best interests of the child.
The activity which lasted for four days, from October 23-26, was attended by 56 participants consisting of the Legal Bureau, Planning Bureau, OHH Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, PP Section of the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, LPKS / RPS, BALKS, Social Workers (Sakti Peksos), and the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation of Children.
