TEMANGGUNG (March 17, 2021) – Family Beneficiaries (KPM) benefit from the Family Hope Program (PKH) launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs with various empowerments carried out by PKH companions. One of them is a PKH stall in Ngulakan Hamlet, Kedungumpul Village, Kandangan District, Temanggung Regency, which is the guidance of PKH Companion of Temanggung Regency, Yuni Fatmawati. The PKH stall, with an initial capital of two million rupiah, now has a turnover of up to IDR 30 million per month.
Yuni said the PKH stall, which is called 'Sendang Rejeki' and serves the community's basic needs, started a turnover with an initial capital of IDR 2 million which was collected from the contributions of 10 KPM in 10 assisted hamlets.
“Here there are 10 hamlets, from each hamlet one person with the lowest economic condition is taken, so there are 10 people. So, out of those 10 people, when there was a PKH disbursement, each of them contributed IDR 200,000 for capital to build a shop, IDR 2 million was collected,” Yuni said when met in Temanggung.
Yuni added that the IDR 2 million capital would then be used for shopping, "IDR 100,000 to buy used storefronts, IDR 1.9 million to buy basic necessities," said the bespectacled woman.
As is known, the Ministry of Social Affairs allocates assistance for 10 million KPM throughout Indonesia. In addition to receiving assistance, KPM PKH was also given various knowledge at the Family Capacity Building Meeting (P2K2). The assistants deliver materials that have been prepared by the Ministry of Social Affairs with various modules including the Health, Finance, Education and Child Care modules.
Starting in 2017, the turnover of the stalls managed by 10 KPMs has continued to increase, especially after the PKH stall 'Sendang Rejeki' was registered as an agent for the disbursement of the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) program in 2018 for KPMs who wish to disburse aid in the form of rice and eggs, as well as agents BRILink.
“Initially, our turnover was at most around IDR 5 million every month. Continue to come here, there is the BPNT program, the basic food program, the turnover increases by about IDR 15 million every month, "he said.
It doesn't stop there, during the COVID-19 pandemic where there was an increase in the number of KPM, Yuni said, it had a direct impact on the turnover of PKH stalls, until now it has touched the figure of IDR 30 million rupiah per month.
"Then after COVID, there was an expansion of the addition of KPM, so there are more KPM (who shop at the KPM stall), there are 128 KPM, the aid money also increases, from IDR 110,00 to 200,000, then we also increase the turnover to around IDR 30,000," she explained.

The concept of the shop, described by Yuni, is based on the name of the shop 'Sendang Rejeki' which means a pool with a water source. "The hope is that it will be a source of fortune for all KPMs," she added.
As for one of the KPMs from Temanggung Regency, who manages the PKH Warung 'Sendang Rejeki', Alfiyah (38), did not expect the initial invitation of the PKH Companion in her village to bring her to where she is now.
He said that through the Group Meetings in PKH or P2K2 that he often participates in, the PKH Companion motivates him and other KPMs about finance and entrepreneurship in order to improve their standard of living and look for alternative sources of income so they don't just depend on PKH assistance.
“Initially, we never took the initiative to build this shop. But at PKH, there is a regular meeting every month, every 10th. So, at each meeting, the companion always motivates us so that we can, at least, make money, to help the family economy," said Alfiyah.
Her husband, who works as a mason with a small income, makes him open to accepting the companion's invitation to form a Joint Business Group (KUBE) with 9 KPMs from other hamlets, to establish a warung that serves the basic needs of the community in general, and PKH members in particular.

“At first (serving) PKH members, it's just getting here, we can serve the surrounding community; the general public and PKH members. This can be done for transactions, there are e-transfers, cash withdrawals, buying credit, electric credit can also be done," explained this mother of two children.
Even though she had encountered a number of obstacles at the beginning of the trip, Alfiyah said the companion continued to convince her group members to keep their spirits up.
"In the beginning, it was quite a struggle with cheap prices, yes the profits were small, not to mention the competition from other stalls, but PKH Companions always motivate us," she said.
Furthermore, she admitted that she had not received or felt the sales results in the first year the shop was running because the proceeds were collected to build a physical and separate shop.
“For the first year, I still borrowed KPM's living room, but I haven't built this shop here. At the beginning of the profit for one year, we did not receive the results, we did not share the results, because we wanted to try ourselves so we could have our own shop. In the end, we built this shop, which ended up being around IDR 7 million,” she admitted looking back.
After the PKH stall 'Sendang Biru' has its own building and has now been running for almost four years, Alfiyah and 9 KPM members in one KUBE have directly felt the impact on the family economy.
"Yes, thank God, we have been able to increase our income, even if it's only a little, we can help the family's economy," said Alfiyah.
