Surakarta (29 September 2024) - Social Workers play strategic roles in communities as the pillars of social empowerment and the development of social welfare. Hosted at Integrated Center of Soeharso, Ministry of Social Affairs conducted the event of the enhancement of duties and function of social workers. (27/9/2024).

Representing the Director General of Social Empowerment, the Director of Community Empowerment Radik Karsadiguna stated the MoSA is fully committed to improving programs that can achieve professionalism of social workers.

Additionally, Radik appreciated social workers’ contributions in developing synergy and collaboration among social pillars. Social workers should be equipped with clear and standardized competencies, certification, and professionalism to connect social problems with effective solutions.

“Social workers are not only social service providers but also pillars that sustain the development of social welfare,” said Radik.

This event was conducted in a hybrid format with 50 participants from DPD IPSPI Central Java and DPD IPSPI D.I Yogyakarta, and 300 social workers from all over Indonesia attending in person from September 26 to 29, 2024, at the Integrated Center  Soeharso Surakarta.
