STPL Bekasi Holds Inclusive Competition to Welcome International Day of Persons with Disabilities
BEKASI (November 28, 2024) - The Pangudi Luhur Integrated Center (STPL) Bekasi held a series of competitions to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) with the theme "Inclusive Leadership for Persons with Disabilities." This activity involved sports, painting, and workshops, and was attended by persons with disabilities from STPL and students from special schools. The competition will run from November 28 to December 5, 2024, with the peak event on December 8, which will feature performances by participants and an auction of works.
Competitions such as chess, table tennis, 100-meter run, futsal, shot put, singing, and painting are held with special equipment, such as a chess board with holes and a sounding table tennis ball. This activity aims to hone sportsmanship and creativity, as well as to demonstrate the equality of abilities of persons with disabilities with the general public.
Participants welcomed this activity with enthusiasm. The Head of STPL, Wahyu Dewanto, hopes that HDI will be a momentum to equalize the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities in all fields.
