Supporting the Fulfillment of Cianjur Refugees' Logistical Needs, the Ministry of Social Affairs Establishes a Public Kitchen at TMP Kalibata
CIANJUR REGENCY (JANUARY 24, 2023) - The Ministry of
Social Affairs through the Directorate General of Social Protection and
Security c.q. Directorate of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims, established
a public kitchen at (National Hero’s Cemetery) TMP Kalibata to support the
logistical needs of evacuees who were victims of Cianjur earthquake that
occurred last November. Until now the Ministry of Social Affairs is continuing to distribute some assistance to survivors in Cianjur Regency.
"Thank you very much to the Ministry of Social Affairs for the
assistance provided in handling this Cianjur earthquake, we need it
until now because there are still several residents who are still living in
tents," said Hero Laksono The Head of Social Protection and Security
Division of Cianjur Regency Social Office.
The public kitchen, which was opened at TMP Kalibata, operates to cook
side dishes sent to Cianjur. In addition, the Ministry of Social
Affairs also sent other assistance today in the form of 2,500 kg of rice, 672
cans of sardines, 300 boxes of instant noodles, 840 liters of cooking oil, 480
bottles of sweet soy sauce, 480 bottles of chili sauce and food (side dishes)
in the form of 16,000 packs of beef rendang.
The assistance was distributed to each sub-district affected by the earthquake
and distributed to several independent public kitchen points through Cianjur Regency
Social Office.
Meanwhile, Yulianti, one of the independent Public
Kitchen's Chairpersons expressed her gratitude for the assistance from the Ministry of
Social Affairs. She said the assistance helped the people, and the Public
Kitchen can fulfill the needs of the survivors.
"Our independent public kitchen, sometimes 1,000 or 1,200 food
packs a day, we distribute to the community in each RT (neighborhood level) as
well as several volunteers who participate to help us," added Yulianti.
It is hoped that this assistance can help the survivors to meet their needs for good food.
