SURAKARTA (March 10, 2025) – Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono invited the academic community of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) to synergize in efforts to empower the community socially.
"I invite campuses, not just UNS, to work together in graduating recipients of social assistance programs according to the President's instructions. The President continues to appeal for us to synergize to eradicate extreme poverty," said Vice Minister of Social Affairs while attending the Inauguration of UNS Achieving Alumni in 2025, Monday (3/10/2025).
As an alumnus of FKIP UNS, the Vice Minister invited elements of higher education to play an active role in the social empowerment program.
"Not only providing social assistance, but also empowering the poor. So that all Indonesian people are productive and have their own income, so that our nation becomes a great nation," explained the Vice Minister.
The 49th Anniversary of UNS with the theme "Transformation of UNS Governance Towards Excellent, Inclusive, and Impactful Education and Research for National Independence" is considered appropriate to invite campuses to contribute to improving the quality of education and research that is not only academically superior, but also inclusive and globally competitive.
This is in line with the Community School program currently being prepared by MoSA. "A total of 100 Community School is being prepared so that they can be launched in July 2025," said Agus Jabo.
This program is expected to be a solution for underprivileged communities in obtaining adequate education and skills to improve their standard of living.
UNS Chancellor Hartono welcomed the Vice Minister of Social Affairs' invitation to synergize in efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. "UNS is ready to collaborate with MoSA in real steps to eradicate extreme poverty. Campuses have a strategic role in research, innovation, and community empowerment, so that synergy with MoSA will strengthen the impact we produce for the nation," he said.
