Jakarta (1 November 2024) - The sun had not yet risen, nor
had the school bell rung for recess, but the sound of applause and cheers from
hundreds of students could already be heard, welcoming the arrival of Vice
Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono at SDN Bambu Apus 03, Cipayung,
East Jakarta, on Friday (1/11/2024).
The red and white flags in each student's hand were waved, adding to the lively atmosphere. The
excitement of that morning seemed to surpass the usual hustle and bustle of
East Jakarta. It was not without reason; Vice Minister Agus Jabo was there to
provide educational play kits and sports equipment to 650 students.
"I am Agus Jabo, Vice Minister of Social Affairs. Back in '76, I went to school without wearing
shoes," said Vice Minister Agus, starting a warm conversation with
hundreds of students sitting under a white-green tent. The children listened attentively,
eagerly awaiting his next words.
"Does anyone know where
Borobudur Temple is? I live near there, and back then, I went to school without
wearing shoes," continued Vice Minister Agus, motivating the hundreds of
children to stay enthusiastic about their education.
"Happy studying, my
children. Keep chasing your dreams with enthusiasm. You must love your parents,
love your friends, and do not fight," said Vice Minister Agus, reinforcing
the values of solidarity and affection from an early age to the hundreds of
students present.
On that occasion, Vice Minister
Agus played badminton with one of the students. The excitement
grew when he showcased his "smash" and "lob" shots between
his legs, which drew laughter from the students.
The students were enthusiastic
about Vice Minister Agus' visit, which they had eagerly awaited since
the morning.
"Usually, we start at 6 AM, but today we came early," said Kenzi, a second-grade student, expressing his joy at participating in the activities with Vice Minister Agus.
The morning's activities were part of Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono's visit to East Jakarta. His presence brought new enthusiasm to the students, demonstrating that the government is always there, providing material assistance and offering attention and encouragement to Indonesian children to keep dreaming and pursuing their goals. Eventually, they can improve their families' lives for the better.
