PEKANBARU (31 August 2021) - The Minister of Social
Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, found that geographical problems were an obstacle in
distributing social assistance to Beneficiary Families (KPM) in Riau Province.
He got this problem when he led the Reconciliation of the Distribution of
Social Assistance in Riau Province with members of Commission VIII of the House
of Representatives. "The (geographical issue) will be evaluated so that
people can get their rights without burdening them," said the Minister of Social
Affairs (31/08).
The Minister of Social
Affairs sees that geographical problems make it difficult for beneficiary
families (KPM) to be able to take aid and get their rights. "If they have
to go to e-Warong, it doesn't mean they are lazy, if they have to spend a lot
of money, the money (costs) is 200 thousand rupiahs, the shopping is 200
thousand rupiahs, what do you do? It's better to stay at home," said the
Minister of Social Affairs.
Seeing this problem, the
Minister of Social Affairs conveyed his plan to sign a regulation for areas
that have difficult geographical access so that KPM in that location can
receive cash assistance. "Later, I will sign for those (difficult) areas
to receive assistance cash, if they take 200 thousand rupiahs if you immediately
take 3 months 600 thousand rupiahs, it doesn't make sense, Sir, the cost is 500
thousand rupiahs. Maybe one of the low absorptions is because the
transaction is difficult,” explained the Minister of Social Affairs.
In addition, the Minister
of Social Affairs also saw the problem that social assistance had not been
distributed to beneficiary families (KPM) in Riau Province due to the
Prosperous Family Card (KKS) that had not been distributed to KPM and blocked
cards. Immediately, she also asked Himbara and the Social Service to
immediately distribute KKS effectively and efficiently and unblock so that KPM
can take advantage of their rights. “If possible, for example, the distribution
of the card (KKS) can take three days, why does it have to be one month? For me
one person is important to me,” said the Minister of Social Affairs.
