CIANJUR (February 4, 2020) - Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) in West Java Province. The report received by Juliari, beneficiaries can get quality foodstuffs and the basic food program socialization is already underway.

"The basic food program socialization in general is going quite well. We hope that in other regions it will also run well, so that our joint efforts to reduce poverty can continue to be accelerated," said Juliari, in Ciloto, Cianjur District, Tuesday (02/02/2020).


Today the Minister of Social Affairs is conducting inspection at two E-Warong agents in Bogor City and Ciloto. At the H. Usman E-Warong agent in the Puncak area, Ciloto Sub-district, Juliari checked various community preparedness related to the basic food including witnessing the process of disbursing food aid to the Beneficiary Families (KPM).


On the same occasion, Juliari talked with the manager of H Usman E-Warong, KPM, and BPNT Facilitator. To the BPNT Facilitator Atikah, Juliari asked about the ups and downs during his duties.


"The pleasure is helping disadvantaged people. There is no grief more like a challenge. Yes, sometimes our job location is far and difficult. Or, KPM that has a disability so we are demanded to be more patient, "he said.


Food supply in Cianjur District so far has been no problem. "Staples such as rice from Bulog by appointing a supplier. We choose premium rice for KPM. If the quality is not good, we return it," Atikah said.


During his working visit, Juliari also had the opportunity to meet with 595 KPM BPNT in Pacet Sub-District, Cianjur District. On that occasion, Juliari explained about the high attention of the government to the quality of the Indonesian population.


"One of the steps taken by the government is the BPNT program, which in 2020 was transformed into a basic food program. The aim is for poor people to get a good intake of this. If our community, our children experience improved nutrition they will become a superior generation," said Juliari at the Graha Permata Cianjur Hall.


Accompanied by the Regent of Cianjur Herman Suherman, Juliari witnessed the disbursement of food aid by symbolically delivering rice to the KPM in Pacet Sub-District, Cianjur District.


Region 1 Director General of Poverty Handling Asnandar said, the visit of the Minister of Social Affairs was part of an effort to check the compatibility between the guidelines set out in the Basic Food Program and their implementation in the field.


"In BPNT's transformation into the basic food program, there was an increase in the aid index, from Rp110,000 to Rp 150,000 per family. The components were originally rice and egg, then chicken, meat and beans were added," he said.


During the Minister of Social Affairs visit, said Asnandar, it appeared that the socialization of the Basic Food Program guidelines had gone well. "As we have witnessed together, both E-Warong have been going well," said Asnandar.
