KLUNGKUNG DISTRICT (August 19, 2021) – Klungkung Regency is the only regency that has islands outside the island of Bali, namely Nusa Penida, Ceningan and Lembongan islands. Klungkung Regency is located in the north of Bangli Regency, east of Karangasem Regency, and west of Gianyar Regency. Even though it has dominant potential, without being balanced with the empowerment of natural resources and the right infrastructure, it will hinder the acceleration of the growth of community progress.

To respond to these conditions that can indirectly have an impact on the social welfare of the community, economic equity, and regional competitiveness. The Directorate General of Poverty Handling through the Directorate of Poverty Handling Region II together with the Social Service of Klungkung Regency carried out an activity to check the location of the Social Rehabilitation of Uninhabitable Houses (RS-Rutilahu) in four villages of Klungkung Regency.

Head of Sub-Directorate of Identification and Capacity Building for the Directorate of Poverty Handling Region II, Tommy Cahyo Utomo said that the expansion of the Rutilahu Hospital in Klungkung Regency would be integrated with empowerment services so that apart from housing, social rehabilitation would also have an impact on the potentials in the village. "We will integrate the Ministry of Social Affairs internally, in terms of Social Rehabilitation, Social Empowerment and Social Protection and Security. Everyone will be involved, this will be a future example of the Social Rehabilitation of Rutilahu model that really touches the needs of the community in the receiving village," said the Head of Sub-Directorate for Identification and Capacity Building.

The Head of the Social Service for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection in Klungkung Regency, I Gusti Agung Gede Putra Mahajaya said that based on the proposal, there were 200 housing units for Rutilahu Social Rehabilitation. The location of the 200 housing units is divided into 4 villages, namely Aan village, Paksebali village, Kusambe village, and Selat village. It is planned that in Aan Village there will be 20 housing units for Rutilahu, 40 housing units for Kusambe Village, 70 housing units for Selat Village, and 70 housing units for Paksebali Village. It is planned that the assistance provided for each house is Rp. 20,000,000.

Klungkung Regency itself in the village is divided between different hamlets and banjar because some are members of the traditional village and the official village. It's hard to find a complex poor community. "For that, we are looking for those that are still somewhat close together, namely the four villages that have entered the integrated social welfare data," said the Head of Social Services for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection in Klungkung Regency.

Furthermore, the Regent of Klungkung, I Nyoman Suwirta also added that in Bali Province it is rather difficult to find poor people who live in one complex because the four villages have the potential to be further developed. For example, in Kusambe village there is the processing of iodized salt and fish processing. And in Aan village, there is also a tourism village development and honey cultivation.
