JAKARTA (August 25, 2021) – Commission VIII of the House of Representatives held Working Meeting with the Ministry of Social Affairs with. During the meeting, discussions on adjusting the use of 2021 State Budget Policy Refocusing and related to actual issues and alternative solutions, took place at the Nusantara II Building, DPR RI, Jakarta (25/8).

 

In the working meeting, the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini, said that the social impact of Covid-19 has increased the poverty rate so rapidly that the poor population is increasing. It is hoped that the refocusing proposed by the Ministry of Social Affairs in an effort to deal with the problem of poverty can be in accordance with what is expected.

 

The Minister of Social Affairs also conveyed that the actual issues behind the increase in the poverty rate became one of the focuses of the Ministry of Social Affairs as well as support for proposed solutions through the Ministry of Social Affairs program. "I really want to protect a program that really touches the community," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

 

The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to carry out the process of improvement and evaluation. In the results of Refocusing IV, there is a remaining realization in order to increase the allocation of basic food cards for 2 months (July - August) for 18.8 million KPM with an index of Rp. 200,000, -/Month as well as a proposal from the local government for 5.9 million KPM for 6 months. (July – December).

 

Present at the meeting were the Leaders and Members of Commission VIII DPR RI, Special Staff to the Minister of Social Affairs, Inspector General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dadang Iskandar, Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat, Director General of Social Empowerment, Edi Suharto, Head of Social Education and Research Agency, Syahabuddin, Secretary of the Directorate General of Poverty Handling, Beni Sujanto.
