BANJARBARU (December 20th 2019) - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH. Ma'ruf Amin was present at "National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN) 2019" in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. In the event, the submission of Pataka National Social Solidarity (KSN) from the Governor of South Kalimantan to the Minister of Social Affairs was then handed over to the Governor of North Sulawesi as host for HKSN 2020.

Furthermore, the Vice President awarded the Satya Lancana Social Service to those who contributed to the social welfare sector. After giving the award, the Vice President gave directions to all participants who attended from across professions and across organizations.

In his direction, the Vice President said that Social Solidarity can strengthen national unity and integrity. "It is hoped that the values ​​of social solidarity can be applied in everyday life in order to increase the dignity and self-esteem of the Indonesian people," said the Vice President.

In closing his remark, the Vice President said that intolerance has the potential to interfere with the peace of public life. "Therefore, the role of social solidarity can erode intolerance in each other by instilling mutual respect for religious differences and ethnic, racial and other differences," the Vice President said.

Previously, the event began with a welcome speech by the Governor of South Kalimantan, Sahbirin Noor and continued by the report of the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara.

In his report, the Minister of Social Affairs hopes that this solidarity event will be a good momentum to raise a sense of brotherhood and national unity and integrity. "Today's solidarity is manifested in the form of caring and sharing," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

Also present at the event was Director General of Poverty Handling, Mr. Andi ZA Dulung who was accompanied by Officials of Echelon II, Echelon III, and Echelon IV in the Environment of the Directorate General of Poverty Handling.
