MAJALENGKA (27 March 2023) - Yudhiyanto (44) returned to Majalengka on Friday (24/3), four days after being treated at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung. The 44-year-old man had to face a scalpel to cure the burns he had sustained.
This surgery is a follow-up to the direction of the Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini, through the "Inten Soeweno" Integrated Center (STIS) in Cibinong.
“Just finished the surgery. He just came home yesterday, Friday (24/3), after four days of hospitalization at RSHS Bandung following surgery," said a Social Worker from STIS in Cibinong, Halimeh when confirmed via telephone on Sunday (26/3).
Previously, the incident happened to Yudhi at his welding workshop in Bandung in early February.
Due to a technical error when cutting iron with a welding torch, the gas cylinder exploded, causing burns to his face, neck, back, and wrists.
Halimeh, who accompanied him during the treatment process, said that information about Yudhi had recently spread through the media. Her party then received a direct assignment from the Head of STIS Cibinong, under the supervision of Social Affairs Minister Risma.
"We received the news on Wednesday (8/3). The following day, Thursday (9/3), we left for Majalengka. That same evening, we arrived at the victim's parents' home in Majalengka. This is a direct message from the Minister, who directed STIS to handle the case," she explained.
Before the STIS team arrived, Halimeh said, the family had already carried out independent treatment after the incident.
"He has been treated at the Majalengka Regional Hospital for nine days. There was a follow-up to clean the wound. In some areas, the burn wounds have dried out, leaving only a few percent that hasn't peeled off," she explained.
Since Yudhi did not check up after returning from the hospital, the team took him to Majalengka Regional Hospital on Friday (10/3), where he received his first control treatment. After that, the team requested a referral for treatment to RSHS Bandung.
Yudhi was transported to RSHS Bandung on Monday (13/3). "On Monday, we met with a skin surgeon at RSHS Bandung. He stated that there must be action. So we quickly scheduled the procedure. On Tuesday (14/3), he performed a lab test and other procedures," Halimeh explained.
Yudhi has been scheduled for surgery on Tuesday of next week (21/3). "Yudhi had to return to the hospital a day before the procedure. He had to be hospitalized. So, on Sunday afternoon (19/3), we went to Bandung to register for inpatient treatment," Halimeh explained.
The surgery consisted of cleaning wounds that were still attached to the face and neck area. Skin implants in the neck area also had to be performed due to Yudhi's condition, which made it difficult for him to look up or turn in a specific direction. The dermatologist who treated Yudhi then took the necessary steps.
Throughout the operation, the surgery consisted of cleaning wounds that were still attached to the face and neck area, as well as skin implants in the neck area, which had to be performed due to Yudhi's condition, which made it difficult for her to look up or turn in a specific direction, so the dermatologist who treated Yudhi took the necessary steps.
Throughout the procedure, Yudhi was accompanied by a team from the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA). Apart from assistance during the treatment process, MoSA also helped pay for Yudhi's examination at Majalengka Regional Hospital and RSHS Bandung.
"We help with all the payments, including yesterday's check-up in Majalengka, as well as surgery and hospitalization here in Bandung. Because the patient does not have health insurance (BPJS), so we help," she said.
MoSA provides short-term assistance to Yudhi's basic needs. Meanwhile, his mother is expected to receive long-term aid in the form of business capital for her soto mie stall.
"After completing Yudhi's entire series of treatments, we immediately followed up to help with his business," she continued.
Yudhi parted ways with his ex-wife in 2018. He resided in Majalengka with his biological father and stepmother, who cared for him.
Since that incident, his business in Bandung was forced to close. Yudhi was able to return to Majalengka after selling all of the things in his workshop. With his current health, he is unable to return to work.
MoSA will continue to monitor Yudhi's condition following surgery. On Monday (3/4), the STIS team will again accompany Yudhi who is scheduled to have a check-up at RSHS Bandung.
