BONDOWOSO (February 6, 2025) - Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) moved quickly to handle the victims of the flood and landslide disaster that hit Bondowoso, East Java on Wednesday (2/5/2025). A number of logistical assistance has been sent to affected residents and Tagana has also been deployed. 

"Logistical assistance has been sent to handle the Bondowoso flood and landslide. Until now, the local social office and Tagana are still in the process of collecting data on residents affected at the disaster location," said Masryani Mansyur, Acting Director of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA) of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Jakarta (2/6).

MoSA has sent logistical assistance for disaster management in two phases. The first phase of the Mahatmiya Bali Center logistics warehouse consists of 400 packages of ready-to-eat food, 140 packages of ready-to-eat side dishes, 360 packages of children's food, 70 blankets, 1 spotlight and scaffolding unit, 1 Krisbow 2,800 watt generator unit, 100 mattresses, 41 baby clothing packages, 55 family kit packages, 35 family kitchen equipment packages, and 100 kids ware packages with a total aid value of IDR244,334,393.

For the second phase of aid sent from the Bekasi Central Logistics Warehouse, it consisted of 1,000 ready-to-eat food packages, 1 multipurpose tent, 50 portable family tents, 200 roll-up tents, 200 kids ware packages, 200 blanket packages, 200 mattress packages, 200 family kits worth IDR761,682,800,-

Aid has also been distributed to affected residents and MoSA ensures that the needs of those affected by the disaster are met.

Heavy rain that occurred in the last few days caused flooding and landslides in the Klabang District, Wonoboyo Village, Bondowoso. It was reported that 16 houses were severely damaged, 97 houses were slightly damaged and there were no fatalities or injuries.

Currently, an emergency response post and an independent public kitchen have been set up at the location of the incident to meet the basic needs of affected residents. Residents together with volunteers and related Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) have begun cleaning up the mud and tree trunks that cover the road.
