Jakarta (March 13, 2025) - Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) moved quickly to distribute aid to communities affected by floods and landslides in Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province, and South Coast Regency, West Sumatra, on Thursday (3/13/2025). The natural disasters that occurred in the two areas were due to high rainfall intensity on Wednesday (3/12/2025).

Based on the data, there are four villages in Central Bengkulu Regency that were affected by floods and landslides, namely Rindu Hati Village, Taba Baru Village, Taba Teret Village, and Tanjung Heran Village. There are two houses in Taba Baru Village that were swept away and one house was severely damaged. However, there were no fatalities or injuries.

"The local Social Office and Tagana have evacuated disaster victims whose houses were severely damaged to a safe location," said Acting Director of Social Protection for People Affected by Natural Disaster, Masryani Mansyur, in a written statement, Thursday (3/13/2025).

Cece, Masryani's nickname, said that emergency tents had been set up to accommodate 2 families whose houses were swept away. Then, logistical and basic food assistance had also been distributed to flood and landslide victims.

Details of the logistical assistance from the Central Bengkulu Regency Social Office, namely 60 boxes of instant noodles, 300 kg of rice, and 60 eggs. Meanwhile, PSKBA logistics at Sentra Dharmaguna in Bengkulu consist of 160 family kit packages, 160 roll-up tent packages, 160 mattress packages, ready-to-eat food and children's food for 160 families.

Cece said that until now the flood is still submerging residents' houses. He said that the Social Office, Tagana and other related agencies are also evaluating the affected areas.

Meanwhile, flooding also occurred in Ranah Pesisir District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province. Heavy rain in the area caused the river water discharge to increase and overflow, submerging residential areas with a water level (TMA) of 1 to 1.5 meters.

A total of 267 people were affected by this flood. There were no fatalities or injuries.

"The efforts that have been made are assessments and rapid assessments at each location of the incident. Then, evacuation of residents in need to a safer location," said Cece.

MoSA has distributed aid through the West Sumatra Provincial Social Office. In the first stage, the total value of aid distributed was IDR 61,068,626.

The aid consisted of 100 packages of ready-to-eat food, 534 kg of rice, 80 packages of children's food, 40 packages of mattresses and blankets, and 40 packages of family kits.

Then, the second stage of assistance in the form of 250 packages of ready-to-eat food, 200 packages of ready-to-eat side dishes, 180 packages of children's food, 100 packages of family kits, 100 packages of kidsware, 100 blankets and mattresses, 50 packages of children's clothing, and 50 roll-up tents. The total value of this assistance reached IDR198,497,000. Cece said that the current condition in Ranah Pesisir District in general is that the flood has receded. Residents have also started cleaning up the mud material in their respective homes.
