SUBANG (January 7, 2025) - Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) said that the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) has distributed aid to victims affected by a tornado in Subang Regency, West Java on Monday (6/1/2025). The total aid provided is worth IDR 138,287,900.

"MoSA sent logistics from the Subang Social Office warehouse and Sentra Inten Suweno Bogor warehouse," said Gus Ipul in his statement, on Monday (6/1/2025).

The aid distributed from the Subang Social Office warehouse was in the form of 200 ready-to-eat food packages, 24 children's food packages, 20 family kit packages, 20 kids' ware packages, 90 blankets, 10 mattresses, and 30 roll-up tents.

In addition, there are also 80 packages of children's food, 20 family kit packages, 20 kids' ware packages, 160 blankets, 90 mattresses, and 20 roll-up tents.

Previously, Subang Regency, West Java was hit by a tornado on Sunday (5/1/2025). Heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning that also occurred caused some roofs of residents' houses to be blown away and some of the walls of the house collapsed. There were no fatalities in this tragedy.

"MoSA through Tagana together with the social office recorded and assessed residents whose houses were affected by the tornado," said Gus Ipul.

MoSA recorded that 59 houses were affected, ranging from light to heavy damage. Damaged houses occurred in Parigimulya Village, Cipunagara District, Kalensari Village, Compreng District, Cigugur Village, Pusakajaya District, and Sujamelang Village, Kasomalang District.

MoSA is currently still waiting for a proposal from the local Social Office for the repair of damaged houses.

The relief efforts involve officers from Inten Suweno Integrated Center, Subang Regency Social Office, and Tagana Subang.
