This disaster occurred due to high intensity rainfall that poured over the area the night before.
Based on the data collected, six sub-districts were affected by this disaster. Floods hit Angkola Muaratais, Batang Angkola, and Sayur Matinggi Sub-districts due to the overflowing Batang Angkola River. Meanwhile, landslides occurred in Angkola Timur, Angkola Barat, and Sipirok Sub-districts. A total of 204 families or 816 people were affected, with 12 houses damaged and one bridge damaged. In addition, around 400 hectares of rice fields were submerged in floods. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries due to this incident.

Meanwhile, residents whose homes were damaged are still taking refuge at their relatives' homes. In addition to aid from MoSA, PT. AR Martabe Gold Mine has also distributed 2,500 basic food packages to help disaster victims. "The local Social Office has also distributed compensation funds to families whose homes were damaged," said Masryani.
