SEMARANG REGENCY (October 10, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) visited Semarang Regency to ensure that several ministry programs were right on target. One of them is a nutritious meal program for the elderly living alone.
“We deliberately went to Semarang
and asked for input suggestions from the beneficiaries,” said Gus Ipul in front
of dozens of beneficiaries at Karanganyar Village Hall, Tuntang, Semarang
Regency, Thursday (10/10).
At the village hall, besides
asking for feedback from residents, Social Affairs Minister also handed over
various Ministry of Social assistance, including attention to vulnerable
groups, disability aids, and entrepreneurship.
After from village hall, Social
Affairs Minister continued his visit to Karanganyar Elementary School, followed
by one of the community groups (Pokmas) which organizes free nutritious meals
for the elderly.
“Here we provide nutritious food
for 43 elderly people,” said Suratih, the cooking officer of Pokmas Tuntang
Subdistrict.
In a day, they provide meals for
43 elderly people in the morning and afternoon. The food is delivered by a
special courier that has been funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
“We get Rp40 million a year from
the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide nutritious meals for the elderly
around here. This includes the courier costs,” he said.
Not only greeting Pokmas
officers, but Gus Ipul also visited a disability house that received free
nutritious food.
In this house, Gus Ipul also
provided some assistance including kitchen utensils, livestock, sleeping
equipment, personal hygiene tools, school equipment, nutrition, and various
other assistance.
Meanwhile, specifically for
Semarang Regency, the Ministry of Social Affairs provided assistance amounting
to IDR 105 billion.
The assistance was in the form of
basic necessities Rp22.8 billion; Family Hope Program (PKH) Rp71.3 billion; and
food or nutritious food for single elderly Rp6.2 billion. There is also a meal
program for person with disability living alone worth IDR 2.5 billion and YAPI
assistance of IDR 1.8 billion.
In addition, there is also
assistance for the attention of vulnerable groups Rp155.5 million; assistance
for the attention of other clusters from the Center Rp183.2 million; and
assistance for 3 hand tractor units Rp60 million.
