JAKARTA (February 23, 2023) – Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) praised the steps taken by the Minister of Social Affairs in orderly and managing finances at the Ministry of Social Affairs. This appreciation was conveyed after a series of tests and audits conducted over the last two years.
"We test (financial reports) how they comply with applicable laws. We conclude the extraordinary changes in the Ministry of Social Affairs at this time should be appreciated by the government and the community," said BPK Member III Achsanul Qosasi when stating to the media at the Ministry of Social Affairs Office, Jalan Salemba Number 28, Thursday (23/2).
BPK has examined expenditures conducted by the Ministry of Social Affairs, including the distribution of social assistance. As a result, there have been significant improvements compared to financial management in previous years.
"In our opinion, regarding the shopping carried out, the current distribution of social assistance is provided to the community, unlike two or three years ago. There have been extraordinary improvements," he said.

Two years ago, the BPK lowered its Opinion on the Ministry of Social Affairs' Financial Report from WTP (Fair Without Exceptions) to WDP (Fair With Exceptions). However, with the improvements made, Achsanul is optimistic that the Ministry of Social Affairs will receive a better opinion again.
"With the current conditions, Mrs. Risma is making improvements. Shopping is also improving; God willing, the Ministry of Social Affairs can return to good and correct opinions. "And this is what we came to Mrs. Risma to convey several notes on important things to maintain and also what must be done for the sake of transparency and accountability," said the recipient of the 2019 Property and Bank Magazine 2019 The Inspiring Financial Governance Auditor award.
Furthermore, Achsanul said that the Ministry of Social Affairs had succeeded in resolving the budget that had not been distributed in the correct distribution. "Previously, around 4 trillion was not distributed, which almost caused the Ministry of Social Affairs to drop its opinion. But currently, of the 98 trillion, only 165 billion has not been distributed and the money has already been returned to the state. "This is what we appreciate," he said.
Achsanul also gave a thumbs up to the Ministry of Social Affairs' alertness in providing the information and data requested by the auditor. According to him, this helps the inspection process. He hopes the Ministry of Social Affairs can maintain and improve its performance and financial reports.
“I congratulate Mrs. Risma. Hopefully, Mrs. Risma will maintain this improvement in financial reports at the Ministry of Social Affairs in the future," he said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said that the BPK examination of the Ministry of Social Affairs financial reports is not only carried out once a year but can be carried out several times.
“This is the submission of inspection results and we also submit documents that will be examined again. "So at the Ministry of Social Affairs the inspection is not just once, but can be done two to three times a year," he said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the BPK held an event for the Submission of Reports on the Results of Compliance Inspections for the Management and Accountability of Expenditures for Social Assistance Advanced for Handling Covid-19 in 2022 to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Other Related Agencies in the Provinces of DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java and North Sumatra and the Submission of Financial Reports to the Ministry of Social Affairs 2022 Unaudited.
