BLITAR, SUNDAY (04/09/2022) - Weekend holidays may not a leisure day for Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini. Sunday afternoon (04/09), Minister of Social Affairs and her entourage went to Blitar to visit children who were victims of violence.

This is her second visit after she met the child victims of sexual violence in Sidoarjo in the morning.

Arrived at Wlingi, Blitar Regency, the Minister met the child who was undergoing treatment on the 3rd floor of the Ngudi Waluyo Wlingi Hospital.

Here she saw and make sure directly the condition of the toddler who was suspected of being abused. After greeting the family, the Minister of Social Affairs also greeted RA. The Social Minister seemed to motivate RA.

The Minister of Social Affairs also try to make her laugh and give encouragement. The Social Minister appeared to open some toys and invite her to play together.

RA experienced violence after being taken care by her adoptive parents and neighbours. Her mother plans to go to become a migrant worker. The case of violence has been handled by the police.

"I heard and read about the condition of this toddler. The problem may seems weird that the child has to be taken care by her neighbours," said Risma after visiting toddler RA to the media crew, Sunday (4/9).

Social Minister Risma said that the physical condition of the toddler RA has begun to improve. However, her psychological condition still needs further treatment. Therefore, the Minister of Social Affairs directed her staff to monitor her condition.

Currently, the toddler's mother has returned from the migrant worker shelter. The migrant worker Delivery Service Company (PJTKI) has allowed the mother to return to caring for RA.

"The mother has returned, has been allowed to take care of her child. Because the condition of her child seems to be severely traumatized. The child also cannot be separated from her mother. So my staff stays here to handle this condition," said Risma.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has resolved various matters between the mother and the PJTKI. For this reason, to the mother of this poor toddler, the Minister of Social Affairs asked her to cancel her intention to go abroad to become a migrant worker. The mother needs to continue to strengthen her role in raising her child.

"The presence of the mother is very important to ensure that the child's growth and development can be optimal. Moreover, this child is traumatized after experiencing violence. The relation of the mother and child is expected to accelerate the recovery of the child's psychological condition," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

To meet the economic needs, the Minister of Social Affairs offered the mother to work at the Bung Karno Tomb which is under the management of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"She can work at Bung Karno's Tomb, because it's under the Ministry of Social Affairs. But she said she wants to work at home. She wants to take care of her child because she is still traumatized and only wants to be with her mother," he said.

A three-year-old toddler from Talun Subdistrict, Blitar Regency was taken care to the hospital after suffering injuries allegedly due to being mistreated. The toddler's unfortunate condition was known by her grandmother who came to visit.

On this occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs also gave her bicycle, dolls, toys, nutrition and vitamins such as milk, honey, date palm juice, biolysin, various biscuits, and fruits.

As well as assistance with personal hygiene equipment in the form of bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, laundry soap, towels, clothes, underwear, pampers, eucalyptus oil, slippers, wet wipes, dry tissue and other assistance worth Rp. 5 million.
