SEMARANG REGENCY (October 10, 2024) - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul on the sidelines of his activities in Semarang Regency visited Ahmad Ardi Febrianto (15), a resident of Karanganyar Village, Tuntang District, Semarang Regency on Thursday (10/10). Minister of Social Affairs, came to ensure that the Ministry of Social Affairs program provided benefits to the community.

“We want to help and empower people who need facilitation from the government,” said Gus Ipul during a dialogue at Karanganyar Village Hall.

Upon arriving at Febri's residence, Gus Mensos immediately greeted Febri's father and provided reinforcement. Gus Ipul also talked to Suparni (48), Febri's mother, to find out Febri's condition.

Unlike teenagers in general, Febri has an intellectual disability. However, the support from his parents led Febri to the 8th grade of Wahid Hasim Special School. “Now if someone asked him, he can answer. Reading is a bit difficult, but the child is skillful, he likes to make his own toys,” said Supinah when describing Febri's development.

Raising Febri with special conditions is certainly not easy for Supinah and her family. Every day Supinah makes getuk to be sold in markets. Meanwhile, his father, Suhardi, sells cilok around schools and huts. “I earn IDR 40-50 thousand. It's only enough for pocket money and food,” Supinah continued.

Responding to this, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities and Sentra Antasena Magelang provided assistance to Febri and his family. Among the assistance provided are school supplies, nutrition packages, personal hygiene tools, entrepreneurship support, 8 country chickens for Supinah, entrepreneurship support for Suhardi, bedding, and house cleaning tools.

“I'm happy, thank God I got assistance that continues for the future. For selling, livestock, and also business. Alhamdulillah,” said Supinah.

Previously, Febri also received nutritious food assistance for people with disabilities. Every day Febri receives two boxes of nutritious food in the morning and afternoon to support her nutritional needs. This food is cooked by the Community Group (Pokmas) which also handles 65 other persons with disabilities in Tuntang Sub-district, Semarang Regency.
