JAYAPURA (January 13, 2022) - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini accompanied by Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto visited the flood and landslide disaster areas, as well as public kitchens and evacuation sites in Jayapura Papua

The Minister ensured that the basic needs of the residents affected by the floods in Organda Jayapura and landslides in the Bhayangkara Police Dormitory could be fulfilled. The Minister also reviewed the shelter and psychosocial services at Trikora Sports Center and the main post in Gor Waringin Jayapura City while handed over some of social assistances.

The assistance provided was worth Rp1.39 billion in total, consists of disaster logistics assistance, compensation for heirs for 7 victims, 500 packages of basic necessities, 500 packages of cleaning tools, 500 packages of school equipment, 500 pcs of sarongs, 50 packages of baby supplies, and shelter materials.

The Minister of Social Affairs and his entourage continued to visits the refugee camps and psychosocial support services at the Jayapura Center for Social Welfare Education and Training (BBPPKS).
