KARO (November 19, 2021) - On the same day (19/11), the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, made another visit to the Siosar permanent residential relocation area (huntap) in Brand District, Karo Regency, to meet residents affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung.
Living 6 years in a house and a government aid field, the Minister of Social Affairs invites former Sinabung evacuees to rise up improving the economy, through capacity building, by utilizing the surrounding resources. The aim is none other than so that they are able to get out of poverty due to the disaster, rather than relying solely on assistance from the government.
The Ministry of Social Affairs also distributed compensation to the heirs of the 4 deceased victims of IDR 15,000,000 each and compensation to 1 injured victim of IDR 5,000,000, as well as assistance in the form of 1,350 packages of basic necessities.
The Minister of Social Affairs' visit was also welcomed by the Regent of Karo, Cory Sriwaty Sebayang, Chairman of the Karo Regency DPRD, Iriani br Tarigan, and a number of members of the Karo Forkopimda.
