PEKALONGAN (November 30, 2024) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) moved quickly to address the impact of flooding in Pekalongan City, Central Java, by distributing logistical assistance worth IDR 79.7 million. The assistance came from the logistics warehouse at the Pekalongan City and Central Java Province Social Services, including rice, ready-to-eat food, mattresses, roll-up tents, blankets, family kits, and kidsware.

Through the Disaster Response Volunteers (Tagana), Kemensos has carried out evacuations, set up posts, activated independent kitchens, and provided health services in evacuation centers. The flood caused by the collapse of the embankment on the Bremi River has inundated two villages and one sub-district, with 1,362 residents affected, 671 of whom were displaced.

The emergency response status, which is valid until December 8, 2024, allows for continued aid distribution and handling efforts to help residents return to normal life. There were no fatalities in this incident, while material losses are still being recorded.
