SURABAYA (December 11, 2024) - Fatma Saifullah Yusuf as Advisor to the Women's Organization for Civil Servant's Wives (DWP) of the Ministry of Social Affairs attended the commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (HDI) 2024 in Surabaya, which was organized by the East Java Social Welfare Coordinating Agency (BK3S). In this event, Fatma emphasized the importance of family support in developing the potential of children with disabilities, as well as the implementation of job quota policies for them, with a target of 1% for the private sector and 2% for the government or state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in 2025.

She also called for eliminating the stigma against people with disabilities and opening up opportunities for them to work independently. Fatma said that several retail companies have provided job opportunities for people with disabilities, such as deaf people who have successfully worked in the aircraft parking sector. In addition, she supports the #SetaraBerkarya movement to promote the work of people with disabilities, especially in developing the potential of their MSMEs. This event also featured various art performances and competitions that illustrated the abilities and creativity of people with disabilities.
