Bogor (August 2, 2024) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) will celebrate the 79th anniversary of Indonesia's Independence with a variety of events at its headquarters and centers throughout Indonesia. One such event will take place at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Galih Pakuan Center in Bogor, where the celebration will be attended by former terrorism inmates.

To prepare for the event, Acting Director General of Social Rehabilitation Pepen Nazaruddin held a meeting with the center's heads and staff. “According to the instruction from the Minister of Social Affairs, we will hold a flag ceremony here involving former inmates,” said Pepen Nazaruddin, accompanied by the Head of Galih Pakuan Center, Rinto Indratmoko, on Friday (August 2, 2024).

Given the significance of this 79th Independence Day celebration, preparations must be made as thoroughly as possible, including infrastructure support. “For this, we will collaborate with the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT), as they are the agency that directly handles former terrorism inmates,” he explained.

Previously, MoSA had collaborated with BNPT through the identification and recommendation of data from BNPT to MoSA, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MoSA and BNPT Number 1 of 2018.

This institutional cooperation aims to restore the social functions of former terrorism inmates by providing social assistance to their families.
