Ngatini
(58), a resident of Selogedong, Argodadi Village, Sedayu Subdistrict, Bantul
Regency, Yogyakarta, is someone whose determination we should all admire. Her
hard work is beginning to pay off. This nylon bag craftswoman is now reaping
the benefit of her labor as one of the suppliers of woven bags to bag sellers
at Beringharjo Market, Yogyakarta.
Ngatini's business was
temporarily halted during the COVID-19 outbreak, as the tourism industry also suffered greatly
at the time. However, her spirits were lifted after obtaining business help
from the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of knitting supplies and
equipment under the Pahlawan Ekonomi Nusantara (PENA) program. "My
business had stalled, but after receiving PENA assistance, my business became
smooth again, and I was motivated to develop it further," said
Ngatini.
