Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini started a working visit to North Sumatra Province. This morning (19/11), the Minister of Social Affairs and her entourage moved to areas affected by floods and landslides in Deli Serdang Regency and Karo Regency, North Sumatra. The location that became the first point of the Social Minister's visit was Hamlet III, Rumah Kinangkung Village, Sibolangit District, Deli Serdang Regency.

Arriving at the location, the Minister of Social Affairs immediately walked and headed to the landslide point. While listening to input, the Minister of Social Affairs observed the location of the incident carefully. The Minister of Social Affairs was seen talking with the sub-district head and local village head. From discussions with local figures, the Minister of Social Affairs recommended relocation.

"Seeing conditions like this, it is feared that further landslides could occur. If that happens, people's access can be cut off. There are 7 hamlets that are prone to being cut off in case of aftershocks. So, the solution is that we will prepare 7 bufferstock locations (social granaries) as their food reserves, in case something happens," said the Minister of Social Affairs at the location, Friday (11/19).
