Handling disasters for residents affected by the earthquake in Pasaman Regency and West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra Province, the Ministry of Social Affairs applies a family-based evacuation pattern. Each family head in the two worst-hit areas, namely Nagari Malampah, Pasaman Regency and Nagari Kajai, West Pasaman Regency, received a family tent measuring 4x6 meters. The tents they set up in their respective yards.

This family-based evacuation pattern is intended so that residents do not have to leave their homes too far. In addition, with this family tent, they can maintain family privacy and of course reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. This family tent also comes with a foam mattress and blanket.

Meanwhile, to fulfill food and drink for the refugees, the Ministry of Social Affairs established Field Public Kitchens at a number of points, including the Siparayo Command Post, Nagari Kajai Command Post, and the West Pasaman Regent's Office.

As of Sunday afternoon, at least, more than 300 family tents have been distributed to affected residents in Pasaman and West Pasaman Regencies. The Ministry of Social Affairs will still distribute 1,500 family tent packages that are currently being shipped from Jakarta.
